Football season has officially kicked off, and players are getting into the spirit by playing the new $5 Rivalry Riches scratch ticket! For Zachary Soudeis of Gardner, the season has started with a $50,000 top prize win!

“I didn’t plan on buying this ticket specifically at first,” Soudeis said. “I had won some money on some pull tab tickets, so I decided to try a new game. The Rivalry Riches ticket instantly caught my eye!”

Soudeis made his purchase but didn’t scratch off the tickets until later. “It was the first ticket I scratched. It was a normal ticket until the $50,000 winning spot popped up!” he added.

The winning symbol just happened to be on the Kansas State side of the ticket, which Soudeis was perfectly fine with. “In this instance, I don’t think I have a preference on where the winning symbol was, just that it was there.” He added with a laugh.

Soudeis says he plans to invest most of the money, but that there might be one splurge purchase coming his way once he figures it out. “You have to celebrate a little bit.” Soudeis replied.

The winning ticket was sold at QuikTrip 166 at 11915 Johnson Drive in Shawnee. There are still three top prizes, as well as thousands in other cash prizes, remaining in the $5 Rivalry Riches game.
