Alma Resident Wins Top Prize Playing Kansas Hold'Em
William Manka's wife and daughter went shopping this morning, so
he decided to take their twin boys to the Stop II Shop in Alma for

ticket at the same time," said Manka. "I normally buy a $2 Kansas
Hold'Em ticket, so I'm not really sure why I decided to go with a
$10 ticket." He's very glad he did, though.
Manka had just put the hot sauce on his biscuits and gravy and
was watching the cards come up on the Kansas Hold'Em monitor when
he suddenly realized he could use his card on his ticket to make a
Royal Flush. Because he had the high hand with a $10 wager, he won
a $10,000 top prize!
"I really didn't know it was that much," the excited 48-year-old
said. "I thought it was going to be about $5,000. The clerk who
sold me the ticket was excited, too. She told me not to forget
Manka is retired after working 20 years at Goodyear in Topeka.
He and his wife have five children. Manka, who is an avid
hunter and outdoorsman, thought he might buy some new guns with his
winnings. He also has plans for the "big check" he's holding in his

Hold'Em ticket is located at 100 S. Missouri Avenue in Alma.
Kansas Hold'Em is a
virtual poker game with a new hand dealt every 4 minutes. Players
may watch drawings on Kansas Hold'Em/Keno monitors. Wagers range
from $2 to $10 per draw. Prizes range from a free $2 ticket to a
$10,000 top prize.
