Barnes Residents Bring Home $20,000 Bonus Crossword Prize
Scott Wesche and his wife Bonnie
truly enjoy playing the Kansas Lottery's $2 Bonus Crossword instant
scratch tickets. They said they had won every prize there was
to win on the game, except the $20,000 top prize. And now
they can say they've won that one, too!
The Wesches, who are residents
of Barnes, purchased five Bonus Crossword tickets last Saturday.
Bonnie was scratching them as Scott drove home, and the
second one she scratched got pretty interesting.
"I was counting the words and
started getting confused," she recalled. "I was counting so many
words I thought I must be counting some twice. Eventually, I
figured out I had ten words, which is the most you can get.
Just to be sure, we stopped at a convenience store to have the
ticket verified. When the clerk told us we had to claim it at the
Lottery, we knew then we really had something big."
They sure did! The Wesches
plan to use their $20,000 prize to pay off hospital and household
bills. They also plan to keep on playing $2 Bonus Crossword
tickets whenever they have a little extra spending
money.
Scott Weschke is employed as a
welder at Sharps Manufacturing in Blue Rapids. The couple has been
married for 24 years.
The lucky $2 Bonus Crossword
ticket was purchased at Pony Express Service Center, located at
1898 All American Road in Hanover.
