Gardner Resident Wins Third Large Prize Playing Kansas Lottery
Games!
Winning a large Kansas Lottery prize is nothing new to Tracy and
Tim Schnagl of Gardner. Last year, Tim won a $5,000 cash
prize playing a $5 Super Red Hot Crossword instant scratch
game. In 2008, Tracy won two large prizes. She also won
a $5,000 cash prize playing a Super Red Hot Crossword instant
scratch game and a $10,000 top prize playing Bubble Bucks 3.
On May 25, she returned to Lottery headquarters in Topeka with her
husband to claim a $50,000 top prize playing a $5 Super Red Hot
Crossword instant scratch ticket!
"I bought three tickets May 24," explained Schnagl. "When
I realized I had revealed all six 'red words' on my ticket, I
started shaking. I couldn't believe it."
By revealing all six red words on one of her $5 tickets, Schnagl
won a $50,000 top prize.
"When I told Tim how much I had won, I said, 'We're making
another trip to Topeka. I just won $50,000!'" said
Schnagl. "He was surprised by the news."
According to the Schnagls, they play Kansas Lottery games
daily.
"Since I'm an avid lottery player, my advice to other players
would be to always play the entire game," said Schnagl. "I
have seen so many people place half scratched tickets in the
trash. If it's partially scratched, how do they know it's not
a winning ticket?"
The Schnagls, who have been married 30 years, have two children
and three grandchildren. After paying bills and buying a
newer truck, they plan to purchase a trampoline for their
grandchildren with their winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Presto 1606, located at 905
E. Santa Fe in Gardner.
