Gardner Residents Frequent Fliers to Kansas Lottery - Winning
5th Large Prize!
One might say Tracy and Tim Schnagl of Gardner have become
frequent fliers to Kansas Lottery headquarters in Topeka.
Since 2008, the couple has claimed a total of $70,000 playing
Kansas Lottery instant scratch games. Today, Tim added
another $10,000 to their total by claiming a $10,000 cash prize
playing the Lottery's 25th Anniversary $20 Game Book
instant scratch game!
"I buy two of the Game Book tickets every day," said Tim.
"I buy one before work and one after work."
The 25th Anniversary Game Book offers players nine
different puzzle games, all in one book. Keeping with his
routine, Tim stopped at a convenience store while on his way home
from work Saturday to pick up his favorite game.
"I never start at the beginning of the book," said Tim. "I
start playing the last game at the back and work my way to the
front. When I matched all my numbers on the Winning
Combination game, I was surprised. I double checked and
triple checked my ticket before calling Tracy."
Having won several large prizes herself, Tracy recommended Tim
stop at a convenience store to have his winning ticket
verified.
"After scanning the ticket, the Lottery terminal read, 'Sign
back of ticket. Redeem at Lottery,' I knew without a doubt I had
won $10,000," said Tim. "As a joke, I texted Tracy and told
her I was wrong and had won $100 instead of $10,000. When she
asked if I was kidding, I texted her back teasing I had really won
$1,000. By the time it was all said and done, she didn't know
what to believe."
After joking with his wife, Tim took a photo of his winning
ticket and sent it to several friends and family members.
Many were dumbfounded by the Schnagl's good fortune, but were happy
to see them win again.
The Schnagl's, who have been married 30 years, have two children
and three grandchildren. They were undecided how they would
spend their winnings this time around, but said it would be put to
good use.
Tim's winning ticket was purchased at Zarco 66, located at 518
E. Logan in Ottawa.
