Hutchinson Resident Claims $22,000 2by2 Prize
The Kansas Lottery's 2by2 game
has been a hot game for players recently. In the last couple
of weeks, three players have each won $22,000 playing the
game. After Saturday night's 2by2 drawing another Kansas
Lottery player won a $22,000 cash prize and he claimed his winning
ticket today at Lottery headquarters in Topeka.
Stacy Bush of Hutchinson matched
both Red numbers 04 and 24 and both White numbers 09 and 16 on a
multi-draw ticket in the September 7 drawing and won a $22,000 cash
prize. The lucky winner picked his own winning numbers using
his daughter's and mother's birthdays.
"I played these same numbers for
at least a year," said Bush. "I quit playing about a month
ago because my numbers never came up. Last Friday, I decided
to try again with the same numbers and ended up winning Saturday
night. I couldn't believe it."
After the drawing Saturday
night, Bush looked up the winning numbers on the Lottery's
website. When he discovered he had won such a large cash
prize he couldn't wait to call a few friends and family
"Everyone knew I was serious
because I called at 12:30 a.m.," said the winner. "My mom was
really excited for me. I had a hard time sleeping that night
knowing I had to wait before I could claim my prize."
Bush made the trip to Topeka
first thing this morning after calling his boss to ask for the day
"When I explained to my boss why
I needed the day off, she said I had a great excuse," said
Bush. "She was very happy for me, too."
Bush, who works in maintenance
at Strafford West Apartments, has one daughter. He plans to
buy something special for his daughter and his mother with his
prize winnings and will save the rest.
The winning ticket was purchased
at QuikTrip 353, located at 110 S. Rock Rd. in Wichita.
