Ugly Sweater Contest Winner Wins $1,000 on Holiday Sweater
34-year-old Wichita Resident Sam Plank made a trip to Topeka for
two reasons on Wednesday. The first was to pick up $50 in Kansas
Lottery coupons for his 2nd place finish in the Ugly
Sweater photo contest the Lottery held, and the second was to claim
a $1,000 prize on a winning $2 Holiday Sweater.
"When I told my wife, she kind of rolled her eyes, but she
believed it with all the luck I've been having lately," said
Plank has won multiple second-chance prizes, and prizes from
social media contests. In the first online entry contest the Kansas
Lottery had, Plank won five Atari Flashback Consoles. Plank also
won aStar TrekDVD set in a contest and tickets to the Country
Stampede in Manhattan.
"I usually go for Bonus Crosswords, or any of the second-chance
prize tickets. Right now I'm hoping to win a Walking Dead prize, or
Chiefs. The Speedway would be fun too, any of them!"
Plank recently had another source of unexpected income; one of
his YouTube videos went viral generating revenue from ads. Plank
works as a designer at Spirit Aerosystems, but in his spare time he
posts videos of paranormal activity. He says he doesn't take them
too seriously, but every now and then one will go viral in Saudi

Plank also saw that the Kansas Lottery had 31 2by2 $22,000 wins
last year, so he's been playing 2by2 every day since the first of

Plank plans on using some of his winnings to purchase a new
floor, and he admits the rest will probably go to his two young
daughters who have birthdays just two days apart in February.

Presto Convenience Store, 1254 S. Taylor Rd in Wichita. There are
