Junction City Single Mother Wins $20,000 Instant Prize
She buys less than a dozen lottery scratch tickets a year, but
the one she bought yesterday was a doozy! Patricia Pratzel, 34, of
Junction City purchased one $2 Bonus
Crossword ticket before work and was shocked to scratch off ten
words and a $20,000 top prize.
"I didn't play the ticket until I got off work at 11:30 last
night," Pratzel told Lottery officials. "I was so excited
when I saw how much I had won that I woke up my daughter and had
her go to the store with me right then to verify the win."
Prazel's daughter is a junior at Junction City High School.
Pratzel, a single mother who also has an 11-year-old son, is
employed at the Best Western Hotel in Junction City.
"This is an awesome, amazing experience. I'm still in
shock," said the excited winner. "It's a real blessing for us."
Pratzel said she would use the prize money to pay bills.
Pratzel purchased her lucky Bonus Crossword ticket at Handy's 1,
located at 113 E. Flinthills Boulevard in Junction City.
There are 28 top prizes of $20,000 remaining in the Bonus
Crossword game, along with hundreds of $2,000 prizes and more than
1,000 prizes of $500.
