Great Bend Resident Plans to Use Lottery Prize for College
Chantel Poppelreiter, 25, told Kansas Lottery officials she
plans to attend college now that she's won a $10,000 lottery
"I've always wanted to take college courses, and this money will
give me a good start," said the Great Bend resident.
Poppelreiter said she had become somewhat discouraged about
playing instant scratch tickets, but decided to give it one more
try with five $2 Sunny Money tickets.
"I hadn't been very lucky, and I said, 'These are the last
tickets I'm going to buy,'" she explained. "Unbelievably, I won the
$10,000 prize on the very last one I scratched!"
Poppelreiter looked the ticket over "about a hundred" times just
to make sure it was real. She said the most she's ever won
before was $30.
In addition to attending college, Poppelreiter plans to use the
prize money to pay bills.
"It's just crazy," she said. "It's almost too good to be

$10,000 top prizes that are still unclaimed.
