Lawrence Resident Beats Monday Morning Blues with $10,000
Some folks may suffer from Monday morning blues, but not Mark
Richardson, at least not today. The Lawrence resident checked
his $10 Quick Pick Powerball ticket from the March 21 drawing and
realized he was holding a ticket worth $10,000! Richardson,
who matched four numbers plus the Powerball, was just one number
away from winning the Powerball jackpot. The winning

One of Richardson's coworkers was with him when he checked his
tickets and was surprised when he said he had won $100.
"I told him I had won $100 and I was going to use the money to
fill up my gas tank," said Richardson. "When we got to work,
we decided to look up the winning numbers and that's when I
realized I hadn't won $100, but I had won $10,000! Needless
to say, there were a lot of high fives."
While on his way to Topeka to claim his prize, Richardson
stopped by his wife's office to share the good news.
"She was in a meeting, but came out to talk to me," said
Richardson. "She was very happy with the news.
Unfortunately, she wasn't able to come with me to claim the prize,
but I didn't want to wait. What a great way to start a
