Luck Runs in the Family for Kiowa Residents
According to 18-year-old Jason Patrick, he had $100 burning a
hole in his pocket on Saturday and decided to purchase five of the
Kansas Lottery's $100,000 Club instant scratch tickets. After
scratching his tickets, the Kiowa resident now has $10,000 burning
a hole in his pocket! Patrick won the $10,000 cash prize on
the last ticket he scratched.
"I didn't think it was real at first," said Patrick.
"There have been times when I've played tickets and thought I had
won before, but come to find out I hadn't. When I had a store
clerk scan my ticket, I was surprised I had won this time."
Winning with the Kansas Lottery seems to run in the
family. Jason's dad, Dennis, recently won a 47"
HDTV in the Lottery's TECH The Halls
promotion.
"I only buy tickets once a week," said Patrick. "My dad
plays a lot more than I do, but it's cool we both have won."
Patrick, who started an auto glass business when he was 16 years
old, plans to use his winnings to improve the business.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Little Store, located at
301 Main in Kiowa.
