Tax Preparation leads to $10,000 Win for Topeka Resident
While preparing to have his taxes done last night, Jason
Inscho of Topeka noticed a Kansas Lottery instant scratch ticket
lying with some old receipts. After close examination, Inscho
realized the ticket was a $2 winner. Since the ticket
was an older game he wasn't sure if he could still cash it in, so
he made a trip to a nearby convenience store to find out.
Much to his surprise the ticket hadn't expired, so he cashed it in
for a $2 Diner Doubler instant scratch ticket and won a $10,000 top
prize playing the game!
"When I realized I had won $10,000, I jumped up and down," said
the excited winner. "I thought I was going to have a heart
attack! I've never won anything more than $50."
After signing the back of his winning ticket, Inscho showed his
daughter and his girlfriend his winning ticket, and later called
several friends and family members with his good news.
"I was so excited about winning, I had a sleepless night," said
Inscho. "I was going to hide my ticket under my dog's water
dish, but decided that probably wasn't a good idea. So, it
ended up under my pillow."
Besides celebrating his $10,000 win this week, Inscho will also
celebrate his 39th birthday tomorrow.
"What a great birthday present," Inscho said of his $10,000
win. "This will be a memorable birthday for sure.
Inscho, who owns and operates Inscho Trucking in Topeka, has a
17-year-old daughter. He plans to take his daughter shopping
and pay bills with his winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Oakmart, located at 2518 NE
Seward in Topeka.
