Royals Fan Wins $25,000 Top Prize Playing Kansas City Royals Instant Ticket

As an avid Kansas City Royals baseball fan, Erin Marshall couldn't resist buying two of the Kansas Lottery's $5 Kansas City Royals instant scratch tickets when she saw them this morning at a convenience store.  The Saint Joseph, Missouri resident was in for a great surprise when she revealed a $25,000 top prize on the first ticket she scratched!

"I have 4-year-old twins who have autism, so I bring them to Leavenworth four days a week for therapy," said Marshall.  "After dropping the twins off, I had some extra time on my hands, so I stopped at a convenience store for a pop and a pack of gum.  When I was at the counter I noticed the Royals tickets, and being a die-hard fan, I couldn't resist buying a couple."

After making her purchases, Marshall returned to her vehicle where she proceeded to scratch her tickets.  Much to her surprise, she won a prize on each ticket.  The first ticket she played was worth $25,000 and the second ticket she played was worth $5!

"I'm not a big gambler, so when I do buy a lottery tickets they're usually $1 or $2 games," said Marshall.  "Since I had some extra money in my pocket, I went ahead and bought the $5 Royals tickets.  You can imagine how surprised I was when I won on both tickets.  I was in shock.  I haven't even had a chance to tell my husband.  This has been such an exciting day!"

Due to all the travel Marshall does to Leavenworth each week, she said she plans to purchase a newer vehicle with her winnings.  The winning tickets were purchased at K7 Stop, located at 300 N. 4th St. in Leavenworth.
