Lebo Resident has "So Many Dollars" after Winning "So Many
Edward Winn said his wife Tina has good luck winning radio
contests, leading disc jockeys to kid her about her last name,
Winn. Edward Winn now knows how that feels. Kansas
Lottery officials couldn't resist noting his "WINNing" name when he
came to Lottery headquarters to claim a $25,000 prize in the $5
instant holiday game So Many
Winn, a control room operator at Wolf Creek Generating Station
in Burlington for 23 years, said the Christmas Day crew was handing
out Kansas Lottery instant tickets as gifts and he received a Super
Red Hot Crossword ticket that won $5.
"I asked my son Bradley to go cash it in for me," explained the
47-year-old Lebo resident. "But he didn't do that - instead, he
used the $5 winnings to bring me home a $5 So Many Santas
When Winn scratched off the ticket and saw it was a $25,000
winner, the first thing he said to his 24-year-old son was,
"Bradley, tell me this is not a prank ticket!"
After looking on the Kansas Lottery website and seeing So Many
Santas was one of the Kansas Lottery's holiday games, he realized
the ticket was real and signed the back of it right away.
Winn acknowledges his son played a major role in his win,
deciding on his own not to take the cash and run, but instead
picking out another ticket, that particular ticket.
"He's already asking me what percentage he's going to get. I
told him we'd talk about it," said Winn with a smile.
The lucky $25,000 So Many Santas ticket was purchased at Casey's
General Store 1266, located at 2 East Broadway Street in
Lebo. There is still one $25,000 top prize in So Many Santas,
by the way, that has not yet been claimed!
