Lucky Lebo Resident Wins Second $25,000 Top Prize!

Edward Winn has had incredible luck playing Kansas Lottery instant scratch games.  Last December, the Lebo resident won a $25,000 top prize playing a $5 So Many Santas instant scratch ticket. Nearly three months later, Winn was back at Lottery
headquarters in Topeka to claim another $25,000 top prize!  This time, he won a top prize playing a $5 Cash on the Cob instant scratch ticket.

"It's funny because last Friday as I was pumping gas, I was talking to another customer who knew I had won $25,000 in December," said Winn.  "He asked me if I had spent all of the money yet and jokingly said it was time for someone else to win in Lebo."

After pumping his gas, Winn went into the store to purchase a Mega Millions ticket for that night's drawing.  While at the counter, he noticed there were only two Cash on the Cob ticket left and decided to buy them, too.

"When I went into the store, I had intended to only buy a Mega Millions ticket," explained Winn.  "I usually buy pull tabs, but when I noticed there were two of the Cash on the Cob left, I bought them.  What's interesting is, the winning ticket I had in December was purchased at this same store and sold by the same clerk!"

Once Winn returned home from the store, he handed his wife Tina one of the Cash on the Cob tickets to play and kept the other one for himself.

"The ticket my wife scratched wasn't a winner," said Winn.  "When I showed her how much I had won on the ticket I scratched, she couldn't believe it.  She called me a few names since she didn't get the winning ticket.  I sent a picture of the ticket to a few friends and family members and they couldn't believe my luck either.  A few of them also called me a few names."

Winn said since his last prize money went toward bills and other necessities, he would like to do something fun with his latest

"This money is just for play," said Winn.  "I'm going to buy a few toys and take my wife on a summer vacation."

The winning ticket was purchased at Casey's General Store, located at 2 E. Broadway in Lebo.  There is one $25,000 top prize remaining in the Cash on the Cob instant scratch game.
