Wamego Telecommunications Workers Win $10,000 Powerball
Prize
Six friends and co-workers from Wamego Telecommunications are
sharing a $10,000 prize in the October 17 Powerball drawing.
They were just one number short of winning the jackpot,
matching four of the first five numbers and the Powerball.
"We're happy about our win, but we're still dreaming of the big
one," said Dylan Francis, who claimed the prize at Lottery
headquarters Monday.
Francis says he and his group always purchase a multi-draw
ticket, which allows them to purchase up to 15 drawings on a single
ticket. In this case, they had purchased ten drawings with a
$20 multi-draw ticket. Had they also purchased the Power Play
option, an extra $1 per play per drawing, they would have won
$40,000! It was a fact that Francis and Tom Fulmer, a member
of his group, took notice of immediately.
"We're going to tell the other guys when we get back that we are
going to play Power Play now, every single time!" they said.
The group purchased their lucky Quick Pick ticket at the place
where they always buy their tickets: Short Stop 8, located at 807
Highway 24 in Wamego.
