Good Thing Wichtia Woman's Fiance Double-Checked Ticket
Annoyed because her fiancé had purchased one of the Kansas
Lottery's new $20 Instant Scratch Game Books for himself but not
for her, a Wichita woman went out and bought her own Game Book.
After Courtney Ontiveros, 29, was done scratching all the games
in her Game Book she didn't think she had won anything. Just
in case, she asked her fiancé Adam Wagoner to check it for her.
Good thing she asked and he did! Wagoner quickly realized his
fiancé had won $10,000.
"I'm really happy for her," said Wagoner.
"I am ecstatic - it's money in my pocket!" said an excited
Ontiveros. "Even though everybody says I have good luck, you don't
expect to win something like this. The most I've won before was
$500, and that was earlier this month on a $2 ticket."
Onitiveros told Lottery officials she will use her prize money
to catch up on bills and perhaps to purchase some special surprises
for her three children. Ontiveros is employed at one of the
Kwik Shops in Wichita.
She purchased her lucky $10,000 ticket at QuikTrip 360, located
at 3933 W. 13th Street in Wichita.
