Tecumseh Man's Sunday Morning Routine Leads to $10,000 Cash Prize

Brian Krug of Tecumseh has a Sunday morning routine - he gets up early and stops by Lakeview Amoco in Topeka to purchase a newspaper and a few Kansas Lottery instant scratch tickets.  Yesterday, his routine paid off after he won a $10,000 cash prize playing a $20 100X The Cash instant scratch ticket!

"I started out buying four of the $5 scratch tickets," explained Krug.  "I ended up winning $25, so I kept $5 and decided to buy two $10 scratch tickets. I won $30 on those tickets, so I kept $10 and bought a $20 100X The Cash ticket.  As I was sitting in my car scratching the ticket, I noticed I had revealed a 50X symbol and I knew right away I must have won something big, so I went home to finish playing the game.  When I got home I started freaking out after I realized I had won $10,000. I ended up waking up my brother, who was visiting from Texas, because I was so loud."

The lucky winner said winning a $10,000 cash prize came at a great time.

"My niece is playing in a soccer tournament in Las Vegas this January, so part of my winnings will help pay for my trip," said Krug.  "I'm currently laid off for the winter, so the rest of my winnings will go to pay bills."

When Lottery officials asked if he was going to continue with his Sunday morning routine, Krug said, "Of course! You can't win if you don't play!"

Lakeview Amoco, located at 3000 SE Croco Rd. in Topeka, where Krug purchased his $10,000 winning ticket also sold a $100,000 top prize on a $10 Happy Holidays Super Ticket just last week.  That large prize was claimed by Richard Passow of Topeka.

There are two $100,000 top prizes remaining in the $20 100X The Cash game as well as thousands of other cash prizes.
