Topeka Couple Claims $100,000 Super Kansas Cash Jackpot
A Topeka couple today claimed a
$100,000 Super Kansas Cash jackpot from the February 9 drawing. It
was the second time in less than a week that the jackpot was hit.
On February 6, a Montgomery County couple won $1.065 million when
they matched all numbers playing Super Kansas Cash.
The Topeka winners, who asked
the Lottery not to disclose their identities, matched all numbers
on the last line of their $2 Quick Pick ticket. The winning numbers
were 3-6-14-17-29 Cashball 11.
"I didn't know we'd won until I
checked my ticket this morning at Dillons," the husband told
Lottery officials. "I called my wife and told her we needed to go
to the Kansas Lottery to get our money. When I told her how much we
had won she kept saying, 'Are you kidding me? Is this for real?'
She thought it was an early April Fools' joke."
The winners are thrilled about
winning $100,000 but admit it would have been even nicer to win
last week when the jackpot was more than $1 million.
"Don't get us wrong, we're very
happy with this, but it does make you think about what could have
been," they said. The lucky winners plan to pay off bills
with their prize money.
The winners purchased their
$100,000 ticket at Dillons 54, located at 800 NW
25th
St. in Topeka. The store will receive a $1,000 bonus
from the Kansas Lottery for selling a jackpot-winning Super Kansas
Cash ticket.
