Winning Mega Millions Jackpot Ticket Sold in Kansas
Kansas sold one of three winning tickets for last night's
record-breaking $640 million Mega Millions jackpot. The lucky
ticket was purchased at a retail location in Northeast Kansas. Last
night's winning numbers were 2-4-23-38-46 and Mega Ball 23.
Kansas Lottery Executive Director Dennis Wilson will address the
media this morning at 10:45.
Three lucky ticket holders in Kansas, Maryland and Illinois will
share an estimated $640 million annuity prize or the cash value of
approximately $462 million, the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. The
three winning tickets matched all five numbers including the
Megaball number.
"This exciting win really hits on the motto that "real people
really win" and Kansas having a new multi-millionaire in this
historic drawing is beyond remarkable," said Wilson. "We are very
much looking forward to hearing from our winner and greeting him or
her."
Kansas also sold a Match 5 winning ticket worth $250
thousand.
Mega Millions is played in 44 jurisdictions (42 states plus the
District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Drawings are
held Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 p.m. Central Time.
