Four Players Win Trips to Pro Football Hall of Fame

TOPEKA, KAN. - Four lucky Kansas Lottery players will have the opportunity of a lifetime to literally rub elbows with Pro Football Hall of Famers.  All four are grand prize winners in the Lottery's "Hall of Fame Powerball Giveaway."  The winners are:

Jennifer Larson, Chanute
Kristi Hays, Salina
Henry A. Davis, Jr., Topeka
Candice Scanlon, Leavenworth

Each winner receives a trip for four to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Fan Festival in Canton, Ohio, including a Pro Football Hall of Fame Tailgate Party, valued at approximately $15,000. To become eligible for the drawing, players entered any $10 Powerball ticket, winning or non-winning, online through the Kansas Lottery Player's Club.  The promotion began November 17, 2013, and ended February 1, 2014. There were 1,960 entries for the drawing. 

The grand prizes include:

  • Round trip airfare for the winner and three guests arriving in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 1 and returning home May 5, 2014
  • Ground transportation
  • Four nights hotel accommodations for four (two rooms) May 1 through May 4
  • Passes to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Fan Festival, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame and Pro Football Hall of Fame Tailgate Party event
  • $500 cash
  • Participation in a "Winners Only" cash prize event to win a minimum of $1,000 and a chance to win $1,000,000
  • State and federal mandatory income withholding taxes, except the "Winners Only" event mentioned above (the player is responsible for those taxes)
