Kansas Lottery Commission Sets Application Dates for Southeast
The Kansas Lottery will begin receiving applications at 8:00
a.m. on July 14, 2014, from parties interested in developing a
Lottery Gaming Facility in the Southeast Gaming Zone. The
deadline for applications to be received will be 1:00 p.m. Central
Time on December 19, 2014. The Kansas Lottery Commission set
the dates at its monthly meeting today.
The 2014 Kansas Legislature amended the Kansas Expanded Lottery
Act (KELA) to reduce the required investment in infrastructure and
privilege fee to $50 million and $5.5 million in the Southeast
Gaming Zone, which includes Crawford and Cherokee counties in
Kansas. The amended KELA provisions take effect July 1, 2014.
Instructions on how to request an application form are expected
to be posted on the Kansas Lottery's website www.kslottery.com starting July 1, 2014.
