Kansas Lottery Commission Sets Application Dates for Southeast Gaming Zone

The Kansas Lottery will begin receiving applications at 8:00 a.m. on July 14, 2014, from parties interested in developing a Lottery Gaming Facility in the Southeast Gaming Zone.  The deadline for applications to be received will be 1:00 p.m. Central Time on December 19, 2014.  The Kansas Lottery Commission set the dates at its monthly meeting today.

The 2014 Kansas Legislature amended the Kansas Expanded Lottery Act (KELA) to reduce the required investment in infrastructure and privilege fee to $50 million and $5.5 million in the Southeast Gaming Zone, which includes Crawford and Cherokee counties in Kansas. The amended KELA provisions take effect July 1, 2014.

Instructions on how to request an application form are expected to be posted on the Kansas Lottery's website starting July 1, 2014.
