Kansas Lottery Draws Grand Prize Winner at Kansas State
Fair
The 100th Kansas State Fair may be officially over, but the road
trip adventure is just beginning for Shirley Vasquez. A Florence,
Colo., resident, Vasquez is the lucky lottery player whose name was
drawn from more than 25,000 entries in the Kansas Lottery 25th
Anniversary Road Trip second-chance promotion.
Vasquez's grand prize is a 2013 Winnebago Access 231C luxury RV.
The grand prize package also includes mandatory state and federal
income withholding taxes and other applicable taxes and fees for
the vehicle, totaling approximately $101,600.
"When I received the message that I had won, I couldn't believe
it," said Vasquez. "We were visiting my husband's family in Kansas
this summer and while we were in Wichita, I decided to purchase a
ticket. When I didn't win, I mailed it for the second-chance
drawing and never gave it a second thought. My family is so excited
because we love to camp. This spring we're planning a trip to Texas
to see my family. We're also looking forward to seeing the races at
Kansas Speedway in October."
The official presentation of the grand prize will be made before
the start of the NASCAR Nationwide Series Kansas Lottery 300 race
at Kansas Speedway October 20, 2012.
The second-chance drawing took place on the last night of the
State Fair, September 16, 2012, at approximately 6 p.m. in the
Kansas Lottery building in Hutchinson.
Eligible entries for the second-chance drawing were $10
non-winning 25th Anniversary Road Trip instant scratch tickets.
Entries were accepted by mail through September 11, 2012, or in
person at the Kansas State Fair September 7-16, 2012. The game also
offered players the chance to win up to $75,000 instantly.
