Follow the “Yellow Brick Road” Through Kansas

The Kansas Travel & Tourism Division is encouraging Kansans to get out and experience their state this summer and has created a special program called “Yellow Brick Road Trip” to help the initiative.

The website www.yellowbrickroadtrip.com makes it easy for the public to enjoy trips encompassing the state’s most interesting destinations and attractions. For example, one of the itineraries features a road trip traveling from Hays to Goodland and profiles 11 different destinations along the route.

“We wanted to make visiting our wonderful state more accessible than ever,” said Becky Blake, Director of Travel & Tourism. “By using this interactive website, Kansans can quickly and easily plan their trips.

When visitors enter the site, they are greeted with an original, award-winning song about Kansas written and performed by Lawrence-based musician Matt Pryor. In addition to detailed itineraries, www.yellowbrickroadtrip.com features user-friendly functionality such as a “What to Pack” section and valuable coupons. The campaign also includes radio, print, outdoor and digital advertising.

The Kansas Lottery has a positive impact on the state’s economy by supporting activities of the Kansas Department of Commerce, including the Travel & Tourism Division’s “Yellow Brick Road Trip” initiative. This program is paid for with money from the Economic Development Initiatives Fund (EDIF), which is derived from Kansas Lottery proceeds.
