Slow Work Day Proves Profitable – Wichita Man Wins $25,000
TOPEKA, KAN. – Last Monday morning, M.D. Rahman was having a slow day at work. To pass the time, the Wichita resident decided to play a $5 Kansas Lottery 300 instant scratch ticket. Much to his disbelief, he won a $25,000 top prize!
“I was shocked when I realized I’d won $25,000,” said Rahman. “My first reaction was this couldn’t be real. I immediately checked my ticket on my Lottery terminal.”
Rahman, who owns and operates KC Gas & Grocery in Wichita, said he doesn’t play Lottery games very often.
“This is the first time I’ve ever come close to winning anything big,” said Rahman. “I’m so surprised.”
Rahman and his wife Farzana, who have been married 4 years and have one son, plan to pay bills with their prize money.
The winning ticket was purchased at KC Gas & Grocery, located at 1161 N. Broadway in Wichita.
