Sabetha Resident Wins $22,009 Playing 2by2
TOPEKA, KAN. – Tuesday evening, Frances Eaton purchased a $5 2by2 ticket, getting five different plays. The Sabetha resident couldn’t believe her good fortune when she checked her ticket. She thought she was doing pretty well when she matched one red number and one white number on each of three plays, but that was nothing compared to her winnings on the fourth play. Eaton matched both red numbers and both white numbers, winning a $22,000 top prize, bringing her total winning to $22,009!
“I play 2by2 every day,” said Eaton. “I work third shift, so when I get home my husband Allen and I check our ticket on the Lottery’s website. Boy, were we surprised to find we won $22,009.”
According to the Eatons, they always choose their own numbers when playing 2by2.
“We use family birthdays to determine our numbers,” said Eaton. “We recently changed our numbers and this was the second time we used these particular birthdays.”
As soon as they realized they won $22,009, the couple made a trip to Lottery headquarters to claim their prize.
“We haven’t even told our family yet,” said Eaton. “We’re going to surprise them by asking them to look at the winners listed on the Lottery website. They’ll be shocked to see my picture.”
The Eatons, who have been married 37 years, have three grown children and four grandchildren. They plan to pay bills with their prize money.
The winning ticket was purchased at Convenience Xpress 5, located at 101 North St. in Seneca.
