The Lottery Commission will meet in special session at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 to vote on contracts with developers seeking to become lottery gaming facility managers in the South Central, Southwest and Northeast gaming zones.

The location of this meeting has been changed to the Capitol Plaza Hotel, 1717 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka. The meeting will be held in the Pioneer Room of Maner Conference Center.

In considering contracts, the Lottery Commission will determine whether developers have met minimum requirements as provided in Senate Bill 66, the Kansas Expanded Lottery Act. Those requirements include local endorsement, having sufficient access to financial resources to support the activities required of a lottery gaming facility manager, no less than three consecutive years of experience in Class III gaming, and being current in all taxes. Contracts approved by the Lottery Commission on May 27 will be forwarded to the Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board, which will select one developer in each gaming zone to construct and manage a destination casino.
