Lottery Commission Approves Crawford County Election
TOPEKA, KAN. – The Kansas Lottery Commission today approved the 2005 election held in Crawford County authorizing casino gaming as sufficient to meet requirements of the Kansas Expanded Gaming Act, thus eliminating the need for the county to hold another election.
A similar request has been made by Sumner County officials for their election held December 2005.
A casino can only be located in a county that has passed a proposition approving the operation of a lottery gaming facility in the county. Upcoming elections currently scheduled are as follows:
June 5 Cherokee County
June 26 Ford County, Wyandotte County
August 7 Sedgwick County
The next Kansas Lottery Commission meeting will be held in person at Lottery Headquarters, 128 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 22.
