Kansas Lottery Selects Vendor for Central Gaming System
TOPEKA, KAN. – The Kansas Lottery has selected GTECH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica S.p.A., as the apparent successful bidder to supply and operate the central gaming system that will monitor electronic gaming machines at six gaming facilities in the state of Kansas.
This decision by the Kansas Lottery follows a competitive procurement process. Final award of the bid is subject to successful negotiation of a seven-to-10 year contract, and approval of the contract by the Kansas Lottery Commission and the Kansas Information Technology Office. Further details of the award will be disclosed upon the signing of a definitive agreement with GTECH.
“We are pleased to have reached a preliminary agreement with GTECH for our central gaming system,” said Kansas Lottery Executive Director Ed Van Petten. “This is an important step as we prepare for the future of expanded gaming in Kansas.”
GTECH also serves as the Kansas Lottery’s online vendor, meaning it provides all terminals, customer displays, technology and communications needed to sell lottery tickets throughout the state of Kansas. The corporate headquarters for GTECH in the United States are located in Providence, Rhode Island.
