Lottery Commission Extends Deadline for Casino Applications in
South Central Gaming Zone

TOPEKA, KAN. – During a special meeting Oct. 24, 2007, the Kansas Lottery Commission approved extending the deadline for submission of Lottery Gaming Facility (Casino) Applications in the state’s South Central Gaming Zone.

The Lottery Commission approved a request by the Sumner County Board of County Commissioners to extend by 45 days the deadline for applications to be submitted to the Lottery Commission for a casino in the South Central Gaming Zone. The new deadline is December 28, 2007, and replaces the previous deadline of November 13, 2007.

The deadlines for submission of Lottery Gaming Facility Applications in the state’s other three gaming zones have previously been extended. Current deadlines for submission of applications to the Lottery Commission, as extended, are as follows:

Southeast Gaming Zone (Crawford & Cherokee counties) - December 6, 2007
Southwest Gaming Zone (Ford County) - December 26, 2007
South Central Gaming Zone (Sumner County) - December 28, 2007
Northeast Gaming Zone (Wyandotte County) - December 31, 2007

The Kansas Lottery Commission is scheduled to hold its next regular meeting via teleconference at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2007.
