Here is a current list of gaming manager applications received for all four of the state’s Gaming Zones:
SOUTHEAST GAMING ZONE (Deadline December 6)
The Kansas Lottery received one application from Penn National Gaming, Inc. Aug. 31 for a hotel-and-casino complex in Cherokee County. The Southeast Gaming Zone is comprised of Cherokee and Crawford counties. No applications were received for a casino complex in Crawford County.
SOUTHWEST GAMING ZONE (Deadline December 26)
The Kansas Lottery received two applications from groups interested in locating a casino in Ford County. Butler National Corporation submitted an application Sept. 27, and submitted an amendment to its application Dec. 26. Also received at Lottery headquarters in Topeka on Dec. 26 was an application from Dodge City Resort & Gaming Company LLC.
SOUTH CENTRAL GAMING ZONE (Deadline December 28)
The Kansas Lottery received four applications from groups interested in locating a casino in Sumner County. MGM Mirage and Foxwoods Development Co. submitted an application Nov. 13, and a supplement to that application was submitted Dec. 26. Sumner Gaming Joint Venture, L.C. submitted its application Nov. 13. An application from Penn National Gaming, Inc. was received by the Lottery on Nov. 28. Marvel Gaming submitted its application on Dec. 27.
NORTHEAST GAMING ZONE (Deadline December 31)
The Kansas Lottery received six applications from groups interested in locating a casino in Wyandotte County. Golden Gaming submitted an application Dec. 27, followed by Pinnacle Entertainment and Kansas Entertainment LLC on Dec. 28. Applications from Legends Sun and two applications from Sands Kansas LLC were received Dec. 31.
The Lottery has 90 days from the date of each deadline to review applications and negotiate contracts with groups in each Gaming Zone. The Lottery will then forward any contracts that are negotiated to the Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board for its consideration and the final approval of one Lottery Gaming Facility for each Zone.
