No Applications Received by Jan. 15 Deadline;
Application Process in Southeast Gaming Zone Remains Open

TOPEKA, KAN. – No new applications from developers seeking to manage a casino in the Southeast Gaming Zone of Kansas were received by the deadline of January 15, 2010, at 2 p.m., so the deadline is automatically extended to April 16, 2010 at 2 p.m.

Last November, the Kansas Lottery rejected an application from Ozark Trail Gaming LLC, informing the group that its application to build a casino in the Southeast Gaming Zone was rejected because the developer failed to demonstrate that the application met the minimum requirements to become a Lottery Gaming Facility Manager. That action resulted in the application process for the Southeast Gaming Zone remaining open.
